Monday will be a Beach Day Spirit Day- hats, flip-flops, and surf boards will be permissible.

 

Attention 7th grade boys:  There will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing 8th grade football next year in Mr. Dave Walker’s room, this morning after announcements. 

 

Any 6th grader interested in playing football next year, please meet in the room across from Mr. Tom Walker’s room in the 5th grade hall at 11:05 on Thursday right before you go to lunch for a short meeting

 

Current 5th and 6th grade boys :  There are basketball open gym schedules in the office for any boy interested in attending this summer.  Stop in the office and pick up a schedule.

 

Incoming Freshmen: Please check your email and vote for next year’s Student Council members.  Voting will close TODAY at 3:10 pm

 

Chromebook and Charger collection for AMS 7th and 8th graders will be THIS Friday, May 21. All 7th and 8th graders should bring their chargers to school Friday along with their Chromebook. A $25 replacement fee will be added to the book fees for any Chromebook returned without a charger.

 

Students please take care of your negative balances in the lunchroom.

 

Current 6th and 7th graders interested in trying out for football and/or basketball cheerleading; there will be an informational meeting Friday at 8:10am in Mrs. Lindsay’s room. 

 

Fulton County Airport in conjunction with The Young Eagles invite 8th graders to The Aviation Day Workshop!  This is a one-day event provided to 8th grade Fulton County Students through the US Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), which is a remarkable organization known for their Young Eagles program. The workshop introduces the youth of the community to aviation through various classroom styles and hands-on activities. This provides creative, social, and educational growth to kids and offers them a chance to embrace aviation as a potential recreational or career path as they mature. 

 

What? Students will participate in specialized presentations on aviation and flight, build wing ribs and other hands-on activities, tour the airport’s hanger and unique aircraft, and meet with experienced pilots. Additionally a free lunch will be provided to participants.

 

When? June 19th 2021, 9:00am-3:00pm

Where? Fulton County Airport – 9460 County Rd 14 Wauseon Oh 43567

Cost:  $35

To Participate: Contact Fulton County Airport and request registration forms, additional instructions are provided with registration.

To better comply with Covid guidelines, we are only opening the event to 15 participants at this time. Registration is being accepted during the month of May with a waitlist provided for the next workshop.  

All 5th and 6th graders, boys and girls, are invited to the Archbold High School summer soccer camp 2021. Forms are available to pick up in the office. Both form and payment need to be returned to the office by Friday May 21st. Come and play soccer with High School coaches and current High School soccer players.

 

All library books, fines, and payment for lost books are due by TODAY!!!!

 

Any current 8th grade boys or girls interested in trying out for the golf team next year should sign up in the office and take an information packet.

Congratulations to the AMS 5-8th Choirs on a fantastic concert on Tuesday night. This was their first live public performance of the year and the first ever 5th and 6th grade Choir concerts at AMS!

Congratulations to Keely Culler whose writing “How Patriotism Can Be Demonstrated” was chosen for First Place at the District Elks Americanism Essay contest. In addition to her award, Keely has been invited to read her essay as an honored guest at the Defiance Elks Flag Day ceremony on June 14. Keely should report to the Media Center for a picture.

INCOMING FRESHMEN: Student Council is a key component to Archbold High School. Student Council is designed to provide experiences in leadership, opportunities to practice being a good citizen, and the voice of Archbold High School Student Body. Student Council is a commitment with the expectation of participating in all meetings and activities, along with building leadership skills, organization skills, and people skills through all responsibilities.  All applications are due by 3pm TODAY. Responses to the following questions will be used to determine which eight (8) students will be selected per grade and placed on ballot. From those students, the four (4) with the most votes will be selected to be Class Officers of the designated grade.
