Technology Vision Statement

The Archbold Area School District is committed to the development of students, teachers, school, and community to use the tools of technology that will culturalize the students to a highly technical information-based world.

The Archbold Area School District is dedicated to developing students who are educated with a strong foundation of basic skills and the know-how to apply that knowledge to real-life, relevant, problem-solving situations. We are committed to developing students that are educated today, but also possess the tools to continue learning for the rest of their lives.

We envision students using multimedia by incorporating research extracted from the Internet. For example, they might do a research project on genetics and communicate with a scientist in the field by using the Internet.

Through the exploration of new vistas, students will broaden their interests while working in individual and group settings and will learn in an atmosphere that fosters fun, enjoyable, and worthwhile learning. Picture a group of students analyzing a database of information with students in Iceland on recycling and reducing cafeteria waste.

By utilizing technology the teacher's ability to educate the students will be enhanced. With emphasis on individual learning situations involving critical thinking skills, the education environment will be an engaged learning situation. This multifaceted learning situation will enable students to discern what information is accurate and relevant.

Through the use of technology, school personnel and community members will become educated and informed to reflect the changing world and changing society. The ability to expand the walls of the classrooms to include the community, the state, the nation, and the world will provide the best education possible at Archbold Area Schools.
