Mission Statement

The Archbold Area Schools are committed to the pursuit of continuous improvement in the quality of education that stresses teamwork, integrity, the dignity of the individual, and a desire to make a positive difference in the greater community. Through the cooperative efforts of parents, teachers, students, and community members, an environment will be established where students have the opportunity to develop a Joy for Learning and an appreciation for the principles which will improve their Quality of Life.

Goals & Objectives

  • Goal 1: To provide a safe atmosphere for children to live and work.
    • Objective #1: To provide interventions to meet the needs of children experiencing impediments to their educational progress.
    • Objective #2: To maintain school facilities which provide safe, clean, and adequate space necessary to meet the needs of today's classroom.
    • Objective #3: To provide a plan of action that will make every effort to protect students and staff from personal harm and encourages respect for diversity.
  • Goal 2: To offer all students an opportunity to be successful.
    • Objective #1: To emphasize the importance of the "Qualities of Success" which include honesty, integrity, leadership, hard work, positive attitude, character, community service, persistence, respect, and compassion.
    • Objective #2: To provide a student-centered instructional environment that emphasizes programs and services to meet individual student needs.
    • Objective #3: To emphasize the importance of all methods of communication skills in today's world.
  • Goal 3: To develop an understanding of the intrinsic values of learning and the interdependent nature of our society.
    • Objective #1: To utilize programs to demonstrate to students why their educational program will ultimately influence their adult success.
    • Objective #2: To teach students how today's educational goals relate to tomorrow's success.
    • Objective #3: To aid teachers in being more than disseminators of information. They will create an environment that transforms information into something real, relational, and pertinent to life-long learning.
  • Goal 4: To employ personnel who are student centered and whose teaching style recognizes the importance of students actively involved in the learning process.
    • Objective #1: All personnel will be provided opportunities for professional improvement that emphasizes the importance of students actively involved in the learning process.
    • Objective #2: Staff will be oriented to the expectations of the community and school district.
    • Objective #3: Staff members will demonstrate by example and instruction the "Qualities of Success."
    • Objective #4: Staff members will provide and use, through information, example, and role models, the principles of successful people in our democratic society.
  • Goal 5: To develop partnerships with parents to maximize the students' learning outcomes.
    • Objective #1: All programs will include parental input to encourage collaboration and cooperation between the family and the school.
    • Objective #2: To encourage the use of parent and community volunteers in the system
    • Objective #3: To encourage school personnel to communicate frequently and directly with parents.
  • Goal 6: To develop strategies which maximize teachers' direct instructional time with students.
    • Objective #1: To reduce unnecessary interruptions to instructional time.
    • Objective #2: To eliminate unnecessary record keeping for teachers.
    • Objective #3: To utilize the tools of technology to provide alternative instructional strategies for teachers and students.
  • Goal 7: The organization will be committed to the finest quality of service to its customers...the students, community, and staff.
    • Objective #1: Constant self-appraisal of the organization and its programs will be undertaken at the district, organizational, and building levels.
  • Objective #2: To prepare students for the constant state of change that will occur throughout their lifetimes.
