It is the policy of the Archbold Area Schools' Board of Education that no student or employee shall be discriminated against because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or physical handicap.
The Archbold Area Schools serve a nutritious meal every school day. Please read the section of your child's student handbook which you will receive the first day of school. It will give you valuable information about paying for your child's lunch. Children from families whose income qualifies them for free or reduced price lunches must submit an application for approval. A letter of explanation and application will be supplied to each student during the first week of school. Delay Schedule & Daily Time Schedules
Archbold students who attend The Special Education classes or Alternative School in Wauseon, Pettisville, or other surrounding programs will also be delayed the same amount of time as Archbold students. If Archbold Schools would be canceled, and the school that you attend is still in session, you will be transported by Archbold buses to your assigned school as soon as we can get you picked up. In the event your child needs to be absent from school, parents are required by state law to contact the school on the day of the absence. Please call the school by 10:00 a.m. on the day of each absence.

The Archbold Area Schools provides transportation for students who reside in the predetermined bus route areas. It is imperative that students be at the bus stop in advance of the normal scheduled pickup time. Routes can vary a great deal depending on traffic, late students at bus stops, and weather conditions. In order to keep as close to the schedule as possible, parents need to prepare your children for those time variations. This situation can occur both at the morning pickup and the afternoon drop-off. Children waiting at bus stops tend to wander too close to the roads. Please impress on your child to stay back. When weather conditions are severe, please have plans well formulated and explained to your child on how they are to handle such emergencies. Children locked out of homes can be a very bad situation. Drivers will make every effort to see children enter their house, but if you live down long drives or your child enters through the rear of the home, it may be impossible for the driver to know for sure. Please help us with advanced plans for your child. Expectations for student behavior on buses are the same as in the classroom. Inappropriate behavior on a bus can be even more a hazard when that behavior draws the drivers attention away from the road. We ask for your help and cooperation to instill in your children the extreme nature of this situation. Students unwilling to choose appropriate behavior as determined by the driver and building administrators, can and will be removed from the bus. |
