Students in Action

Civil War Explored - Sauder Village, The Black Swamp Arts Council, and The Archbold Area Foundation generously combined resources to bring Mike Deren, Past In Person, to the Archbold Middle School eighth grade students. Mr. Deren presented life as a soldier-musician during the Civil War. He shared the humor, pain and excitement of the war years through song and musical instruments.

Student Explore Robots - Students at Archbold Middle School explore the programming of software to control Lego robotic vehicles. Student in the after-school R.O.C.K.S program programmed the robotic Legos to perform various tasks and maneuver through obstacle courses to obtain points.

Guest Speaker - Tom Langsdorf came to speak to Mrs. Luderman's students about the culture of islands in the Indian Ocean, and he shared with the students several artifacts including items of clothing, spices, and volcanic rock from these islands.
