We have a strong COMMUNITY of students and staff for the 2013-2014 school year! It is inspiring to visit the classrooms and be involved in the challenging and motivating lessons our students are engaged in every day. No matter the specific role a TEAM member plays; from cook, to teacher, to custodian, all are committed to providing every student with an extremely positive school experience.

Comedian and Motivational Speaker visits AMS!

Comedian and motivational speaker Kenn Kington visited AMS on April 7. He used his humor encourage students to lift each other up and never give up in finding what they are meant to do with their talents. Kenn can regularly be found on satellite radio and has been featured on Comedy Central. His visit was sponsored by the United Way and Buckeye Border FCA.

Band Exchange Day

Members of the AMS band traveled to Pettisville for band exchange day. In turn, Pettiville band members came to Archbold.

Solo and Ensemble

On Saturday, April 12th AMS music students participated in the Ohio Music Education Association District I Junior High Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Defiance High School.  

The following chorale students received a I (Superior Rating):  Hayden Weber; Hannah Bowers; Mackenna Whitacre; Marin Parsley; Natalie Roth, and the Archbold 7th and 8th Grade Girls Ensemble (Amanda Payne, Cassie Hayes, Reagan Strong, Emilee Cambell, Mackenna Whitacre, Marin Parsley, Belle Clark, and Hannah Bowers).  

The following band students received a Superior (I) Rating: Katie Short (bells), Archbold Gold Trumpet Trio (Hannah Bowers, Connor Hagans, Kendall Lovejoy), Jeremiah Hartman (tuba), Caitlin Flinkinger (piano), Simon Short (trumpet), Archbold Woodwind Quartet (Rosalyn Flores, Regann Strong, Morgan Perry, Leah Miller), Lily Krieger (alto sax).

Students Selected for District I Honors Choir

Congratulations to the following choir students selected to represent Archbold for the 2014 Ohio Music Education Association District 1 Junior High Honors Choir:

 These students were selected out of hundreds of other applicants from over 60 schools in Northwest Ohio.  Their performance occurred on February 16, 2014 at the Stranahan Theater.

Security - Guests and visitors must sign in at the office and pick up a visitor’s pass to wear each time you are in the building.

  • All outside doors to the building will be locked during school hours.
  • Visitors during school hours should enter through the Main (Stryker Street) entrance. Use the call button on the right side of the entry and someone will “buzz” you in.
  • Handicapped visitors should use the East (Gym) entrance. Use the call button located near the handicap accessible door.
  • After school hours the Main (Stryker Street) entrance will be open until 4:30

Electronic Equipment - Games, musical devices , and cell phones should not be brought to school. School personnel may confiscate these items. Other electronic devices that serve an academic purpose may be used during the school day if specified by the Principal.

Lockers - It is recommended that students bring a lock for their locker to secure valuable items when not in use. A copy of the combination must be left with the office.

Cafeteria Prices & Balances - Lunch prices will be $2.20 for students for the 2012-2013 school year. Breakfast prices will be $1.50. Extra milk will be sold for $.45. For student balances, contact Sarah Nafziger via email. (snafziger@archboldschools.org)

Student Dress Code Revisions - The Archbold School Board approved revisions to the Middle School Handbook. One area that was revised is the student dress code. Click here to see the changes in the student dress code.

Daily Announcements - Daily announcements for the middle school are now available on the web. Click here. Parents can also receive the daily announcements via email. Please contact Mrs. Wyse by sending an email message to her. Please state your student's name and grade. Click here to send email to Mrs. Wyse.

Pick Up and Drop Off - Please use the north side "drop off" or "pick up" zone on the north side of the building before and after school. This will help to enhance a steady flow of traffic for middle school parents and staff.
